Part of the brief for our recently completed commercial hospitality project, Grove House Hotel in Edinburgh, was to ensure that the property remained connected to the community and that it should have a ‘neighbourhood’ feel.

We are really proud to have partnered with Edinburgh Printmakers in procuring all of of the artwork displayed throughout the hotel and hope they are enjoyed and admired by all those lucky enough to see them.

Often, the most visually impactful and surprising spaces juxtapose the old with the new.

Vintage art, like antique furniture, can actually be rather at home in a more contemporary interior, and contrasting the two will elevate both!

The words ‘timeless’ and ‘trends’ are constantly used when we talk about interiors. On one hand, as consumers, we are bombarded with new trends and fashions across social media and in magazines, and on the other, we are being told to be more sustainable, invest in ‘longevity’ and reject the interiors equivalent of ‘fast-fashion’.  

Art breathes colour, pattern, life and personality into what would otherwise be ‘just a room’. It’s the final piece of the puzzle in terms of physically adding the finishing touches to a space, but it can, and should be a forethought in any scheme.
